BIO:
Luca Pasquini (b. 2004) is a NYC-based composer & pianist. Luca’s emotionally fluent music explores themes of the natural and supernatural worlds, often meditating on memory and connection. His work encapsulates various mediums, from the concert music stage to music for dance and film. While mostly writing for classical instruments, he is inspired by various genres, including alternative and indie rock, jazz, ambient, electronic, and experimental music.
Luca’s music has received recognition from ASCAP, the YoungArts Foundation, National Young Composer’s Challenge, the Marvin Hamlisch International Music Awards, the National Federation of Music Clubs, and more. His recently premiered multi-movement work “Haven” was commissioned by chamber music group Salastina, as a recipient of the annual Alumni Commission from their 2024 Salastina Sounds Promising Cohort. He has collaborated with music groups such as Unheard-Of Ensemble, Playground Ensemble, Dither electric guitar quartet, and Chamber Project St. Louis and studied at the Yellow Barn Young Artists Program, and Boston University Tanglewood Institute, where his symphonic work was performed at Tanglewood on Parade at the Koussevitzky Music Shed by the BUTI Young Artists Orchestra. Luca is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music at the New York University Steinhardt School. His mentors have included Michael Gordon, Robert Honstein, Justin Dello Joio, Beata Hlavenková, Leanna Kirchoff, and Brad Marcotte
